ACT Residual
Eligibility
Only students who have applied, been admitted, or are enrolled at the University of Minnesota's Twin Cities campuses are eligible for residual testing. A referral from the UM Twin Cities Office of Admissions is required in order to test. Note also that test scores will be reported only within the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities campus, at the time of testing and in the future. These are ACT regulations and must be strictly enforced.
2007 Schedule
January through August: First Friday of each month by appointment only
September 7

November 2, 9, 16 and 30

Report time is no later than 8:30am.
The ACT takes about four (4) hours to complete.
Registration

Alternate Paper Registration
Pre-registration is required for the ACT Residual. Follow the instructions in
the box below to register:
Due to limited space, advance registration with full payment is
required to assure you a seat. Registration and payment must be received at
least one week before your requested test date, at:

You may register in person or by mail. If you mail in your registration, be sure to include the following information, so we can confirm your test date:
Name
Address
Phone number
Email address, if you have one
You preferred test date
Your second choice test date
You are responsible for taking the test on the date for which you register. Your payment is not refundable unless you call to cancel by the Tuesday before your test date. You must then send a written refund request to the address above, no later than two weeks after the test date. Checks will be refunded by mail; fees paid in cash must be picked up at the test center.

With writing: $50
Without writing $35
Fee must be paid by check or money order made out to the University of
Minnesota, or exact change only.
Test Day Requirements
Take the following items with you to the Testing Center:
- Completed referral form from Admissions Office
- Official identification (driver's license, passport, or student ID) with a recent photograph
- Check or money order made out to the University of Minnesota, or exact cash for test fee. This is separate from the application fee paid in Admissions.
- A non-programmable calculator, if desired, for the math section only.
Score Reporting
Scores are reported by ACT within four weeks. Scores will be reported to the referring office (usually Admissions) on the University of Minnesota Twin Cities campuses only, now or in the future. Students will need to contact that office to receive their scores.
Retesting
If Residual ACT Assessment was taken previously, you must wait 60 days before retaking it, but you may take the National ACT during this period.
